LIVEU SOLUTIONS FOR EDUCATION

The Solution

The school added LiveU to its curriculum last year to give its students a competitive edge and provide real-world experience with a tool they’d encounter during their careers in broadcasting.

Students in the film, television and media arts program receive intensive hands-on training in all phases of digital media production. The student-run Quinnipiac News Network (QNN) features one live remote segment in its daily newscasts featuring campus events, breaking news, sports and weather reports.

"

“We introduced this to our students based on the popularity of LiveU with our local NBC, ABC, and CBS affiliates, and frankly the rest of the journalism community, LiveU will likely be what our students will be exposed to when they get their first job in broadcasting so we want to make sure they are well-versed in the technology. So far it has been flawless.”

Quinnipiac has seen the value in LiveU technology over the past year and plans to add another transmission to its newsgathering toolkit this month in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year. The school is also exploring LiveU’s At-Home Production model which would allow the school to cost-effectively cover more events such as away games, while utilizing their in-house resources (directors, producers, and graphics) to produce the final product.
